The Grand Drama & Comedy Club is The Grand's "Community Theater."

Members of the Club provide live theater entertainment to The Grand community and surrounding areas, performing plays and musicals, as well as an annual variety show (now in it's 25th year), on the Sagebrush Theater at Sonoran Plaza, and comedy skits by our Cabaret Players at the Cimarron Theater. We live our motto, “On Stage, Back Stage, A Place for Everyone” and we hope to see you at our shows.



Thinking About Joining the Club

The Club welcomes Grand residents to join us, recognizing that each person has talents and creativity to share.  Our Club fosters teamwork and friendship to make everyone feel welcome and productive.



Do You Want to Be On Stage?

Do you have a desire to act in a play or musical, or dance, or sing? If so, then the Club has a place for you.

Not interested in learning a lot of lines but always had a desire to be on stage? The Cabaret Players presents three comedy shows a year by actors who use their scripts as part of their performance – no memorization needed. Always a sellout, the Cimarron Theater venue is small and intimate.



Do You Want to Help Back Stage?

The Club has so many opportunities to be involved, such as costuming, make-up, marketing, and communications, and that’s not all. 

• Do you like to redecorate? You might be a wonderful set designer.
• Are you a DIY kind of guy or gal? Join the construction crew building sets or join in for a “painting party” to turn flats into garden scenes.
• Do you have a flair for applying make-up? You will play a very important part in “creating” the actor’s character?
• Do you like technical things? We offer training for our sound and lighting crews. Here may be a chance to learn a new skill or use your experience in a rewarding and creative way. 

Do You Love to Dance?

The Grandettes ‘N Guys is a dance group that is part of the Club. The group performs a number of dances in the Annual Variety Show.

Whether you have danced previously, years ago, or not at all, there are jazz and tap classes offered at various times of the year through The Grand Fitness Center. These classes are taught by professional dance teachers. Please note classes that are scheduled for January through April are closed sessions for the Grandettes 'n Guys rehearsals for the Annual Variety Show.



Do you want to help run the Club or our shows?

The Club has many administrative functions, including serving on the Board of Directors, play selection, communications, helping with cast parties, or being an usher for our shows.
